- The paper handling of the Automatic Document Feeder tray is important in order to avoid the paper pick issue caused by the ADF.
- Use good conditioned paper and load it properly in the ADF tray. When the paper has staples attached to it, the pick up issue occurs.
- Remove already existing stack of paper from the ADF tray and reload it again properly.
- It is good to place only 10 sheets of new plain paper on the ADF tray, and tap the paper stack on the flat surface to arrange the edges.
- Check if the paper stack you loaded in the ADF tray is fully inserted into the input tray and the printer identifies the paper has been located.
- When the paper is properly placed in the printer, it produces an acknowledgment by producing a sound, or emitting a light from a LED, or displaying a message on its control panel.
- Push the paper in the paper width guide to the edge of the paper stack and affirm that the guide resets properly against the paper stack and does not bind it.
- Make sure that the ADF pick up rollers are clean and are free from dust and dirt.
- Access the ADF cover and use a lightly moisten cloth to clean separator pad and then close the ADF cover.
- Avoid using tap water or alcohol for cleaning purpose. The ADF rollers get dried out if you use alcohol.
- When you rotate the roller using your fingers press the cloth against it and give minimum amount of pressure to remove dirt and dust buildup.
